YOU ARE WELCOME

HERE

There are very few places where the soul is truly safe, where the knowing, the questions, the longings of the soul are welcomed, received and listened to rather than evaluated, judged, or even beaten out of us. - Ruth Haley Barton

A Safe Space to Simply Be...

The practice of spiritual direction blew into my own life gently, offering a practice that felt light and unhurried, instead of another thing to strive toward or achieve. The practice gives space to let me simply be, wrestle, question, and deepen - often reframing how I see God's presence in my life.

That is my hope for you. Whether you are struggling to discern the voice of God, wrestling with questions of faith and doubt, experiencing the process of deconstruction or reconstruction of your faith, or simply need to be reminded that God is good – spiritual direction is a safe space to explore these questions and shifts.

I began seeing my own spiritual director in 2018, which inspired me to pursue training in spiritual direction - to be able to offer this practice for others. Today, I hold a M.A. in Christian Leadership and Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Sioux Falls Seminary.

What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual direction is an ancient tradition in the Church. It has been a part of the Catholic and Anglican traditions for many centuries but is now coming into more widespread use.

Spiritual directors are trained listeners, who hold space with you and the longings and wrestling of your heart. A Christian spiritual director accompanies you as you share about your spiritual journey. She’s not there to give you all the answers – where pastors and mentors provide counsel, and therapists may facilitate behavioral change, spiritual directors serve as companions on the journey of faith, guiding you in noticing God’s presence and activity along the way.
